Private Market

AIIC’s Private Market Sector covers all conference interpreting clients not covered by our agreements with international institutions — a varied and dynamic field of work

Events not covered by any institutional agreement are defined by AIIC as private market events.

Clients may be businesses organizing regular meetings, special conferences or events such as product launches, but they don’t come from the business community alone. They may be associations, professional bodies, trade unions or NGOs.

While many AIIC interpreters work exclusively for institutional clients or for private market clients, there are many who move freely between sectors.

The private market is diverse and rapidly changing: to stay on top of trends and make the most of opportunities, AIIC’s Private Market Sector (PRIMS) holds regular meetings and maintains a vibrant flow of information amongst members and with stakeholders in the private market conference industry.
